Special Education Resources for Families and Educators

These resources support families and educators in understanding and navigating the special education process in Kansas. They emphasize the importance of shared responsibility between parents and schools when developing educational plans for students with disabilities. Through professional learning, technical assistance, and system-wide supports such as the Kansas Technical Assistance System Network (TASN) and the Kansas Multi-Tier System of Supports (MTSS), districts are supported in using evidence-based practices to improve instruction, inclusion, and outcomes for students with disabilities, who are first and foremost general education students.
