School Mental Health Coalition (SMHC)

The School Mental Health Coalition was created in 2025 (originally formed as the School Mental Health Advisory Council by the Kansas State Board of Education in 2017).

Purpose:

Coordinate school mental health partnerships and services with school-based providers and community stakeholders that will benefit students and families.

Function:

  • Statewide Needs Assessment
  • Comprehensive Strategic Planning
  • Comprehensive Resource Coordination
  • Statewide Community Engagement
  • Statewide Data Analysis
