English Language Arts Standards
The Kansas State English Language Arts (ELA) Standards outline what students should know and be able to do in reading, writing, speaking and listening, and language from kindergarten through high school. The ELA Standard documents are designed to support educators in planning high-quality, standards-aligned instruction while allowing flexibility in curriculum, instructional strategies, and materials. They emphasize the development of strong readers and writers through intentional practice with complex texts, academic language, and meaningful communication.
