Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA)

EIPA Registration and Testing through TASK12: Kansas educational interpreters must register for the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) through TASK12 (Training and Assessment Systems for K–12 Educational Interpreters).

  • Testing dates and locations are posted on the TASK12 website.
  • Interpreters may test at any approved testing site.
  • Advance registration is required.

Featured EIPA Workshop

Interpreting Standardized K–12 Assessments (Online Workshop)

Date: April 18, 2026
Time: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Format: Online video conference
Presenter: Kimberly F. Hutter, Ph.D.

Standardized assessments present unique language challenges for Deaf and hard of hearing students. This interactive workshop focuses on American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting strategies for standardized K–12 assessments. Topics include linguistic challenges, best practices, and how effective interpretation supports educational equity and student performance.

Cost:

The $75 registration fee is waived for eligible Kansas participants when enrollment and registration are completed by the deadline. Fee support is provided by the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) Special Education Title Services Team.

Registration Instructions for Kansas Participants

Step 1: Enroll through KSDE Kansas Technical Assistance System Network (TASN) website.

  • Visit the KSDE TASN Events webpage and select Register for this Event.
  • Choose “Kansas participant” during enrollment.
  • Deadline: April 10, 2026, by 5:00 p.m. (no exceptions).

Step 2: Check Your Email

Approved Kansas participants will receive an email from Sarah Reed with vital instructions for no-cost registration through Boys Town.

Step 3: Register with Boys Town

  • Follow the link and access code provided in the email to complete registration.
  • Additional instructions for accessing the online platform will be sent before the workshop date.

Kansas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (KCDHH)
