Career Domain Resources
Tools for school counselors to help students plan for life after high school. These resources focus on learning about careers, exploring options, and preparing for future goals. Counselors use Individual Plans of Study (IPS) and guides like the Career Sunflower to show how jobs and pathways connect. KSDE also offers career websites, work-based learning ideas, and links to Career and Technical Education programs to help students build skills and make informed choices.
Social-Emotional Domain
The social-emotional domain focuses on helping students develop skills to manage emotions, build positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. Kansas school counselors support students in areas like self-awareness, self-management, social skills, and coping strategies. These programs aim to create a safe and supportive learning environment where students can thrive academically and personally. Counselors work with families and teachers to provide guidance, interventions, and resources that promote mental health and overall well-being.
