Science

Kansas uses Kansas Science Standards, which are based on the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). These standards help teachers give students hands-on, real-world science learning. Students learn to ask questions, investigate, and explain how science works in everyday life.

Science Assessment

The Kansas Assessment Program (KAP) measures how well students are learning science according to the Kansas Science Standards. KAP Science assessments are designed to intentionally assess students on their ability to make sense of phenomena using the Science and Engineering Practices (SEPs) and Disciplinary Core Ideas (DCIs).

Additional information and assessment resources can be found at the Kansas Assessment Program website.
