Graduation Requirements
English Learners (ELs) and students in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) programs must meet the same graduation requirements as all Kansas students. This includes earning at least 21 credits in subjects like English, math, science, social studies, fine arts, and electives. They also participate in the annual Kansas English Language Proficiency Assesssment (KELPA) until they show proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Once they meet these language goals, they continue working toward the regular diploma requirements.
- Visit the EL Assessment page for KELPA and other assessments.
