Structured Literacy refers to the explicit, systematic, diagnostic, and cumulative approach to teaching literacy that acknowledges the value of both word recognition and oral and written language comprehension as evidenced in all grades and disciplines.

Kansas LETRS®

Kansas Science of Reading Professional Learning Course with LETRS®

For the past five years, the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) has paid for all LETRS® training. KSDE has also built a strong system to keep this training going by preparing LETRS® Local Certified Facilitators (LCFs) who work in service centers and school districts across the state.
