Suspicious Activity Reporting

Safety starts with awareness. Kansas schools, in partnership with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI), use the Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) system to help students, staff, and families report concerning behavior before it becomes a threat. SAR is easy to access through QR codes, stickers, and online tools, and reports can be made anonymously. If you see something that doesn’t seem right, speak up—your action can help keep schools safe.

Report Suspicious Activity Online

Kansas encourages everyone to help keep communities safe by reporting suspicious activity.

Examples of Suspicious Activity:

  • Expressed threats to commit a crime.
  • Threats of violence or intent to harm others.
  • Threats against schools, facilities, or events.
  • Surveillance of people or facilities.
  • Gathering weapons, chemicals, explosives, or electronic devices.
  • Attempts to enter restricted areas or tamper with security.
  • Signs of human trafficking (person not free to leave).
  • Signs of drug activity (frequent short visits to a property).

Emergencies should always be reported by dialing 911. If you see something unusual—such as threats, surveillance, attempts to access restricted areas, or signs of trafficking or drug activity—submit a detailed report. Your vigilance can make a difference.
