School Safety Management

  • Kansas’s Adjutant General’s Department, through the Kansas Division of Emergency Management (KDEM), offers free, all-hazards training tailored to a wide range of public safety stakeholders—including school personnel—to enhance readiness and response across Kansas. Led by subject-matter experts, the program supports emergency management staff, first responders, public health officials, volunteer organizations, and school districts, among others, through structured courses and exercises.
  • The Readiness and Emergency Management for Schools (REMS) Technical Assistance Center helps schools and colleges create strong emergency plans for safety and crisis situations. It provides free resources like guides, toolkits, training, and templates to support planning for prevention, protection, response, and recovery.
