Kansas Integrated Accountability System
The Kansas Integrated Accountability (KIAS) is Kansas Department of Education's (KSDE) general supervision system and integrated monitoring protocol to improve outcomes for students and ensure compliance with state and federal law. This includes oversight and support of federal Title programs, federal and state special education programs, and certain state programs.
There are eight components that are integrated and connected to form a comprehensive system of supervision in Kansas:
- Fiscal management
- Integrated on and off-site monitoring
- Effective policies and procedures
- Data on processes and results
- Improvement, correction, incentives and sanctions
- Resolution
- Targeted technical assistance and professional learning
- Performance reports
