Meeting Information
The Kansas State Board of Education (KSBE) is responsible for overseeing and guiding public K–12 education across the state. Its main job is to provide general supervision of public schools and all educational interests in Kansas, as required by the Kansas Constitution. The Board helps set educational policies, approves academic standards, and works to ensure Kansas students receive a high‑quality education. It also appoints the Commissioner of Education, who serves as the Board’s executive officer and carries out its policies.
The Kansas State Board of Education holds monthly business meetings which are open to the public, typically on the second Tuesday and Wednesday of each month. Meeting Materials, Minutes and Video are posted in advance so the public can review the topics and documents the Board will consider.
