Meeting Information
The Kansas State Board of Education (KSBE) is responsible for overseeing and guiding public K–12 education across the state. Its main job is to provide general supervision of public schools and all educational interests in Kansas, as required by the Kansas Constitution. The Board helps set educational policies, approves academic standards, and works to ensure Kansas students receive a high‑quality education. It also appoints the Commissioner of Education, who serves as the Board’s executive officer and carries out its policies. The Kansas State Board of Education holds monthly business meetings which are open to the public, typically on the second Tuesday and Wednesday of each month.

Board Policy Committee
The Committee will meet Monday, Sept. 7 (Labor Day), at 4 p.m.
The meeting is open to the public but will not be livestreamed. Due to the state holiday, the Landon Building will be closed, but there will be a number posted on the front door to be let in.
