KIAS: Authenticated Application
The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) uses the Kansas Integrated Accountability System (KIAS) as a centralized, results-driven platform to support continuous improvement and accountability across school districts.
Through this system, KSDE and local education agencies collect, review, and verify program data while monitoring compliance with federal and state requirements in the following eight areas:
- Alternate Assessment
- Discipline Data
- Emergency Safety Intervention
- ESEA Consolidated Review
- Federal Fiscal File Review
- IDEA and Gifted Requirements File Review
- Indicator 11 – Child Find/Initial Evaluation
- Indicator 12 – Early Childhood Transition
- Indicator 13 – Secondary Transitions
KIAS is designed not only to ensure that legal obligations are met, but also to guide districts in identifying areas for improvement, providing targeted technical assistance, and strengthening outcomes for students. By integrating data collection, reporting, monitoring, and corrective action processes into one system, KIAS helps create a consistent cycle of evaluation and improvement that supports both compliance and student success statewide.
