Kansas Exemplary Educators Network

Kansas Exemplary Educators Network (KEEN) is the Kansas State Department of Education’s (KSDE) network of the state’s most highly recognized educators. The program is dedicated to elevating educational leadership and supporting ongoing school improvement. Its mission is to build and empower a statewide network of exemplary educators who actively contribute to advancing schools, strengthening student performance, and elevating the teaching profession. Through leadership opportunities, advisory roles, targeted professional development, and annual conferences, KEEN enhances education across Kansas by engaging educators who have already demonstrated outstanding excellence.

Who Makes Up KEEN?

Members are individuals who have received major state or national education honors, including:

Professional Development

KEEN members are invited annually to professional development opportunities addressing current issues in education. These events often take the form of conferences, share sessions, and leadership development activities.

Conferences

KSDE hosts the annual KEEN State Education Conference, which provides sessions on best practices, collaboration, leadership, and instructional strategies.

These conferences showcase the values of KEEN community, leadership, joy in teaching, and continuous improvement.
