KSDE has been promoting the importance of building coherence in Kansas’ school improvement efforts to effect meaningful change. That coherence must extend to the function and purpose of KSDE’s annual conference.
This conference will be a “back-to-school kickoff” opportunity for district and building leadership teams to convene and develop strategies for meeting district action plans. District teams will have the opportunity to engage with other like-districts to share best practices and strategies to help one another reach their goals.
This event will provide everything districts need to accomplish their action plans and communicate these efforts districtwide. It will be focused on supports and resources along with collaborative sessions with other districts to support the Four Fundamentals:

Members of district and building leadership teams will attend breakout sessions most closely aligned to their job responsibilities, ensuring all areas are well represented in the development of the district’s action plan strategies. We call that building coherence.
