Every year, district test coordinators across Kansas are required to receive in-person test security and ethics training.
Nominations for the 2027 Kansas Teacher of the Year (KTOY) are due Friday, Nov. 7.
The KTOY award recognizes and utilizes representatives of excellent teaching in the elementary and secondary classrooms of the state.
The next curriculum leaders meeting will be Friday, Nov. 21, in Hays.
The Kansas Technical Assistance System Network (TASN) provides evidence-based professional learning and technical assistance, grounded in the federal requirements of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
There are still available slots as part of the KSDE FastBridge partnership for district-specific virtual sessions at no charge to the district. These sessions must be held prior to Dec. 31.

The Oct. 10 deadline is approaching to nominate first-year teachers for the Kansas Horizon Award and nominate students for presidential scholars, presidential scholars in career and technical education (CTE) and the United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP).
Clay County USD 379 will host a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and Entry-Level Driver (ELDT) Theory event in October. The Kansas Department of Revenue will conduct the training.
Reminder: As part of the KSDE partnership with Renaissance, districts can now schedule virtual sessions at no cost covering FastBridge topics of their choosing. These are one-hour sessions and must be held prior to December 31, 2025. These sessions will be open to other districts as well.
