The deadline is approaching for all Kansas elementary schools to partner with families of incoming kindergarten students to collect kindergarten-entry data using the Ages & Stages Questionnaires®, Third Edition (ASQ-3) and the Ages & Stages Questionnaires®: Social-Emotional, Second Edition (ASQ:SE-2). The window to screen 2025-2026 kindergarten students closes Monday, Sept. 22.
All Kindergarten Readiness Snapshot data - including questionnaires administered via paper, pending Family Access screenings, and any child profiles noting the reason for not participating - must be entered into ASQ Online by Friday, Sept. 26. On Tuesday of this week (Sept. 9), all Kansas ASQ Online users received a tip sheet with steps to finalize ASQ data:
Once data is finalized in the ASQ Online system, it is submitted for the year — schools do not have an additional data upload. Participation rate data will be available in the KSDE Kindergarten Readiness Snapshot authenticated application later this year.

If staff would like to build their ASQ understanding to support future screenings, KSDE and the Kansas Parent Information Resource Center will offer an “Introduction to ASQ” live virtual training, 1-3:30 p.m., on Sept. 18.
