Biography

Mr. Porter has 47 years of experience in public education, including 34 years as a Superintendent of Schools. His civic leadership includes serving on the Fredonia Library Board and with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of the 31st Judicial District, as well as previously serving on the Fredonia Hospital Board of Trustees. He has also been a church music director for more than 30 years, including as director of the Fredonia Community Choir.

Mr. Porter is a long‑time public school educator who spent part of his career teaching music to students from kindergarten through high school. As a school administrator, he has served both as a building principal and as a superintendent. He has also worked as an adjunct education instructor at multiple universities at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and served as an administrator in a professional development center.

He and his wife, Charlene, live in Fredonia. They have three grown children and four grandchildren.
