Biography
Dr. New earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Washburn University and her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Kansas. Recently retired after 35 years of service as an English teacher, high school administrator, and director of certified personnel, she currently serves on two state commissions and several local boards that advocate for youth and members of her Topeka community.
She also now serves as the Legislative Liaison for the State Board.
Married to LaRon, she is the mother of eight children, grandmother of twelve, and great‑grandmother of one. She is honored to continue her commitment to serving not only the families of District 6 but also all children across Kansas.
