Beginner EDCS training sessions set to continue in December

School staff members who are new to the Educator Data Collection System will have the chance to participate in three more training sessions in December. “What is it and why do I have to do it?” on Nov. 13, was the first session in the four-part series. 

Dec. 2: Part 2: “My staff is entered, now what?,” 1-3 p.m. Join the Zoom here: https://ksde.zoom.us/j/82473927554. The agenda includes exploring the Staff Data tab: 

  • Find/update staff 
  • Add new staff 
  • Shared staff 
  • Exited staff 
  • Delete data 

 

Dec. 10: Part 3: “Shared staff: Who ARE these people?,” 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Join the Zoom here: https://ksde.zoom.us/j/89839757341. The agenda includes:  

  • Who is the hiring district? 
  • Who is the receiving district? 
  • What is each district responsible for? 
  • Where does each district do their work in EDCS? 
  • What about some "special" shared staff situations? 

 

Dec. 15: Part 4: “Where is the submit button?” will be 1 - 3 p.m. Join the Zoom here: https://ksde.zoom.us/j/84090702983. This session puts together all the concepts learned from the previous three trainings and attendees will learn how to submit the Licensed Personnel Report (LPR). The agenda includes: 

  • Spring Vacancy Report 
  • Stops and warnings 
  • Staff assignment report flags 
  • Submitting 
  • Un-submitting 
  • Due dates
