The Kansas Home Visiting Conference did things a bit differently this year - and it paid off!
Moving away from a fully virtual format, the conference was held simultaneously in five regions across the state on Tuesday, Sept. 30: Garden City, Chanute, Hays, Wichita and Topeka. This innovative approach allowed more than 450 home visiting professionals to engage in dynamic regional discussion while connecting statewide through three powerful virtual keynote sessions.
Conference speakers included Zach Vincent, transition director for the Office of Early Childhood; Tabatha Rosproy, project coordinator with the Kansas Parent Information Resource Center; and Lisse Regehr, president and CEO of Thrive Allen County and Thrive Kansas. Each speaker's message led participants back to their regional conversations to dream and envision a bold, inspired future for home visiting in Kansas.
The goals of the conference were clear:
As the home visiting field transitions into the Kansas Office of Early Childhood, this conference marked an exciting first step toward reaching more families with the education, resources and support they deserve to ensure their child is ready to thrive in kindergarten and beyond.
