The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) Child Care Licensing Team is conducting a comprehensive review of Kansas child care licensing regulations. Visit the KDHE website to learn more about this work.
As part of that process, KDHE invites Kansas child care providers, directors and staff members to a listening and feedback session. The event will take place virtually from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 22. Registration is required.
All providers are welcome to attend the entire session, but each hour will be dedicated to specific licensed facilities as follows:
- 9-10 a.m. - Licensed day care homes and group day care homes.
- 10-11 a.m. - Child care centers and preschools.
- 11 a.m.-noon - School age and drop-in programs.
Visit the Kansas Train training portal to create an account and register.
Amanda Petersen, director of the Kansas State Department of Education’s (KSDE) Early Childhood team, and Laura Hodgson, a KSDE Child Nutrition and Wellness consultant, both serve as members of the KDHE Child Care Licensing System Improvement Team, the advisory group for KDHE Child Care Licensing.
