The University of Kansas School of Medicine’s virtual fall 2023 Tobacco Treatment Specialist Training will be Aug. 14-Oct. 13.

There is a fee of $800 per person. However, there are scholarships available with priority given to those who serve in rural areas or in behavioral health settings in Kansas.
Participants must be tobacco-free for at least six months before the training. Participants must be able to participate in the virtual skills building day on Friday, Oct. 13, and complete the final exam with a passing score.
Those who can apply include community health workers, health educators, social workers, respiratory therapists, dental hygienists, substance abuse counselors, nurses, physicians and other health/social service professionals.
