KSDE early childhood team provides reminders for Kansas Preschool Pilot grantees

Kansas Preschool Pilot (KPP) grantees for the 2024-25 school year must enter data into the Early Childhood Foundations for School Success authenticated web application by May 31.  Click here for a list of 2024-25 Kansas Preschool Pilot grantees

The KPP survey can be found in the Early Childhood Foundations for School Success web application in KSDE authenticated applications.

Grantees who do not have access to Foundations for School Success (FSS) application should follow the directions on page 9 of the user’s guide to gain access. To enter information into FSS, “District/Org Update” or “Multi-Org Update” user access level is required.  The FSS user's guide can be found here.

Questions in the survey include the following:

  • What research did your school district rely on in determining that a need for service or assistance exists in your community?
  • Which tools did you use to measure progress in literacy, math, and social-emotional development?
  • How many total children were assessed in each of these areas from entry to exit of the program?
  • Based on the assessment data, how many children in your program showed improvement in each of these areas from entry to exit of the program?
  • How many children did you serve using KPP grant funds?
  • How many staff members received professional development?

This report provides important information to support early childhood investments in Kansas. Thank you for accurately reporting this information.

Kansas Preschool Pilot grantees for the 2025-26 school year also need to return their signed assurances by June 2 to ensure receipt of funding for 2025-26.
