As an avid runner, Dr. Renee Nugent literally took to heart the axiom, “hit the ground running,” when she stepped into the deputy commissioner’s role at the Kansas State Department of Education in July.
With a little more than 90 days into her leadership of the KSDE division of learning services, Nugent said school improvement is at the top of her priority list.
Have a question about your child’s education? Kansas Education Commissioner Dr. Randy Watson wants to hear from you.
The KSDE accreditation and design team has recently updated the 25-26 KESA Compliance Guide and wanted to make districts and systems aware of that, along with the updated sections (listed below). The revised guide is now re-posted to the Accreditation webpage in the Compliance section.
The KSDE Special Education and Title Services (SETS) team has several October updates pertaining to the Local Consolidated Plan (LCP) application, a meeting of the district foster care points of contact and the monthly ESEA webinar.
