Each month, the Kansas State Board of Education conducts a regular business meeting, which is open to the public. See below for 2026 schedule of meetings, generally planned for the second Tuesday and Wednesday of the month.
An agenda is published in advance of each meeting to notify the public of items the Board will be considering. An electronic version of the agenda and support materials are available on this page.
Landon State Office Building, 900 SW Jackson Street, Topeka, unless alternate location is identified on the agenda. The Landon Building is east of the State Capitol. The Board meets in Suite 102.
Individuals who need the use of a sign language interpreter, or who require other special accommodations, should contact the Board Office at (785) 296-3203 at least seven business days prior to a Kansas State Board of Education meeting.
According to Board Policy:
The Citizens’ Open Forum is an opportunity for the general public to provide input on educational issues in the state of Kansas which are germane to the business of the board. Addressing the Board is a privilege and not a right. The Citizens’ Open Forum may be held shortly after the meeting is called to order on the first day of each two-day meeting of the State Board of Education. Procedures for the Citizens’ Open Forum are as follows:
