The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) is providing Individual Plan of Study (IPS) and Career and Technical Education (CTE) Technical Assistance opportunities this fall at educational service centers across the state.
At the IPS Technical Assistance trainings, discussion will take place regarding the IPS requirements that include the process implemented by each school district and the product or plan created by each student.
The IPS Digital Reference Guide will be reviewed with participants.
Other items of discussion will include:
- The Regional Educational Laboratory (REL)-KSDE IPS partnership.
- The Kansas Work-Based Learning (WBL) Continuum.
- Postsecondary educational resources and labor market informational resources created by state agencies.
District representatives and IPS district teams are encouraged to attend. This may include teachers, counselors and administrators.
At the CTE Technical Assistance trainings, topics that will be covered include CTE Clusters and Pathways; Career Cluster and Pathway Program of Study Applications; Kansas Course Code Management System summary; double-up and nesting requests; industry-recognized or sought credentials; Perkins V; Student Data Management summary; Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs); Office of Civil Rights compliance; Work-Based Learning (WBL); IPS; and KSDE updates.
The Kansas Work-Based Learning (WBL) Continuum will be reviewed, and the WBL Digital Reference Guide will be discussed. Postsecondary educational resources and labor market informational resources created by state agencies also will be shared.
CTE coordinators and representatives of CTE district teams are encouraged to attend. This could include teachers, counselors and administrators.
