Members of the Kansas State Board of Education will hold a public hearing during their February meeting regarding the removal of the graduation requirement for Kansas high school students to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
The public hearing will begin at 1:30 p.m. during the board’s monthly meeting on Feb. 11, first floor board room, Suite 102, Landon State Office Building, 900 S.W. Jackson, in Topeka. The next day, board members are scheduled to vote on removing completion of the FAFSA from Kansas Administrative Regulation (K.A.R.) 91-31-35.
In May 2024, board members approved amendments to state regulations that govern new minimum high school graduation requirements that will go into effect for the class of 2028, the current 2024-25 freshmen.
