Kansas Math Project provides professional development in April and May

In April and May, join the growing number of Kansas Pre-K-12 educators in developing students’ language, understanding, fluency, and problem-solving across Kansas math standards.   

Led by Kansas MTSS & Alignment math specialists, participants will walk away with the following: 

 

  • A belief that all students can learn math. 
  • An understanding of how Kansas standards progress and lead to long-term proficiency. 
  • Knowledge of how to integrate systematic and explicit instruction to enhance learning. 
  • The ability to use data to drive instruction and intervention. 

 

Developed in partnership with the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) and Kansas MTSS & Alignment, the Kansas Math Project aims to build understanding of evidence-based teaching strategies and math content knowledge.  

Attendees only have to participate in one of the following training sessions: 

  • April 28-29: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., Hilton Garden Inn, in Hays. *PLEASE NOTE: This session is full. Email kmp@kansasmtss.org to be placed on a waiting list. 
  • April 30 - May 1: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., Sunflower Non-Profit Center, in Topeka. *PLEASE NOTE: This session is full. Email kmp@kansasmtss.org to be placed on a waiting list. 
  • May 29-30: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., Hilton Garden Inn, in Salina. Register here

 

As a result of participating in these sessions, attendees will be able to do the following: 

  • Invest in growing grade-level content while learning alongside other professionals. 
  • Earn professional development points towards license renewal.  
  • Collaborate with other district leaders to develop a plan to scale the learning within capacity constraints.
