Reminder: Ages & Stages Questionnaires® virtual training offered on Sept. 18

The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) and Kansas Information Parent Resource Center (KPIRC) are partnering to offer Introduction to the Ages and Stages Questionnaires®.

The Ages & Stages Questionnaires® (ASQ) is a developmental screening tool used to assess a child's progress in various areas, like communication, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, problem-solving, and personal-social development. It's designed to be a parent-completed questionnaire, encouraging family engagement in the process. The ASQ helps identify children who may be at risk for developmental delays, allowing for early intervention and support.

This virtual training is free, 1–3:30 p.m., on Sept. 18. Register for the Sept. 18 Introduction to the ASQ training on the KSDE TASN website.

Contact Stacy Clarke, stacy.clarke@ksde.gov, with questions.

Schools can access resources to support ASQ implementation at agesandstages.com/ks, including the 2025 Kindergarten Readiness Snapshot Fact Sheet. All elementary schools are required to partner with families of incoming kindergarten students to complete the ASQ-3 and the ASQ:SE-2 by Count Day, Sept. 22, 2025. Contact Amanda Petersen, Amanda.Petersen@ksde.gov, and Stacy Clarke, Stacy.Clarke@ksde.gov, for support in successfully completing the Kindergarten Readiness Snapshot early in the school year.
