Registration is now open for the annual Counting KIDS workshops in August and September.
These sessions are led by Laurel Murdie, KSDE director of fiscal auditing, and Kyle Lord, KSDE assistant director of information technology.
*Please note: Since Sept. 20, 2025, falls on a Saturday, Count Day moves to the first school day following Sept. 20, which is Monday, Sept. 22.
Participants will learn what information is needed to submit for funding purposes. They will also receive important updates prior to Sept. 22. There is no cost to attend; however, limited seating capacity exists at most locations.

Current users: If you already have a KSDE Training Portal account, click on “log in” (upper right corner), then select “KIDS: Counting KIDS” from the K12 Staff drop-down menu. The “Counting KIDS Workshops 2025-26” link will direct you to the full schedule. Sign up for the session you want to attend.
First-time users: Open the KSDE Training Portal and scroll down to click the “Request an account’ icon. Once your account has been approved, follow the steps as outlined above for current users.
