The Kansas State Department of Education is seeking KSDE-trained program reviewers to review educator preparation programs in November and December for the following programs and universities:
The deadline to sign-up is Oct. 6: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/J6RNXDQ
Higher education institutions must have approved programs for all areas for which they wish to make licensing recommendations, so these reviews are vital to maintaining strong educator preparation in Kansas.
Trained reviewers thoroughly examine the description and supporting documents of an educator preparation program in their content area, and work with fellow team members (3-4 reviewers per content area) to determine whether the program meets the Kansas higher education preparation program standards for that area. They also write any “areas for improvement” and complete a program review team report using a provided template. Refresher training is provided at the start of each review. The reviews will be held online. KSDE can reimburse school districts for substitutes if needed.
KSDE deeply appreciates the time and expertise of reviewers and encourages that time spent on reviews be recognized as professional development service to the profession.
