KSDE to host monthly secondary transition webinars beginning Sept. 9

The Kansas State Department of Education and partner agencies will begin hosting webinars every second Tuesday of the month to share information about secondary transition.   

Beginning Sept. 9, the webinars are virtual and will be 3:30-4:30 p.m. They are free but registration is required: FY25-26 Secondary Transition Webinars 

The topics will include the following: 

  • Secondary transition grant Initiatives in Kansas – Kansas Department of Commerce, Kansas University Center on Disabilities (KUCD), KSDE  
  • Home community-based services I/DD waiver - Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) 
  • An introduction to workforce centers - Kansas Department of Commerce 
  • Self-determined learning model of instruction - KUCD  
  • Senior exit surveys, state performance plan indicator 14 - KSDE  
  • Today’s Occupation/Tomorrow’s Opportunities (T.O.T.O,) Kansas Department of Labor 
  • Transitioning to college: What students with disabilities should know - Washburn University’s Student Accessibility Services  
  • Exploring new resources for assistive technology and transition – Infinitec/TASN provider
