Districts are reminded attendance policies fall under local control. While coding practices remain at the discretion of individual districts and buildings, KSDE strongly recommends implementing consistent attendance policies across all buildings within a district to ensure data accuracy.
The chronic absenteeism data submission window opened Tuesday, May 6, and closes June 30, with all data submitted through end of year assessment (EOYA) records.
Please note: Chronic absenteeism figures are not considered final until all EOYA records have been processed. During this window, districts may make necessary corrections to previously submitted data. All modifications will update overnight and can be verified the following day.
KSDE encourages all districts to utilize the chronic absentee report available through A Measure of Student Success (AMOSS) system to review and validate submitted data.
