Each Kansas school district is required to submit a report for their third grade students to comply with the Every Child Can Read Act, a legislative statement of intent regarding the promotion of academic achievement in schools to ensure all students move toward grade-level proficiency in literacy, especially by the third grade.

The Parents as Teachers National Center recently highlighted the Beloit Parents as Teachers (PAT) Consortium’s group connection activity – a visit to the local airport hangar. The families got to see the airplanes and learn about flight.

Body Venture is a traveling health education exhibit for K-5 students operated by KSDE’s Child Nutrition and Wellness team. It is a great opportunity for students to learn about the importance of making healthy food choices and being physically active.
