Implemented in 1984 by the National Parent Teacher Association, Teacher Appreciation Week celebrates educators for the work they do to support students. It takes place the first, full week of May each year. 

Members of the 2025 Kansas Teacher of the Year team recorded video messages recognizing the teachers they work with and the teachers who have inspired them.
