As Teacher Appreciation Week begins to wrap up, the members of the 2025 Kansas Teacher of the Year team wanted to show their appreciation for the educators who inspire them to be better teachers.
Members of the Kansas State Board of Education are slated to vote on updated state assessment performance level descriptors during their monthly meeting, May 13-14, in Topeka.
Action plans and improvement plans are required by law for schools that 1) operate schoolwide programs; and for schools 2) identified federally for support and improvement. The submission window for both action plans closes Thursday, May 15. Action plans submitted after this date will not be accepted.
Districts are reminded attendance policies fall under local control. While coding practices remain at the discretion of individual districts and buildings, KSDE strongly recommends implementing consistent attendance policies across all buildings within a district to ensure data accuracy.
