Members of the KSDE Information Technology (IT) team attended the Kansas PowerSchool Users Group (KSPSUG) Fall Mini Conference on Oct. 13, in Salina. Staff from more than 65 districts were registered to attend.
Throughout the day, accounts were created for more than 45 of those districts to obtain access to the Kansas Education Data System (KEDS) Data Validation Portal (DVP).
Conference sessions covered PowerSchool-specific training regarding how to connect their Student Information System (SIS) to KEDS, download state descriptors, mapping of local SIS codes to the state values, among other topics. The day allowed KSDE IT staff to hear from district staff and help answer questions. KSDE would like to thank the KSPSUG and the districts in attendance for including us in the conference and the opportunity to help get districts up and going with KEDS.
KSDE IT staff members are also working with other SIS vendors on their certification and getting districts connected.
