TOPEKA — Kansas Education Commissioner Dr. Randy Watson has announced three Kansas elementary schools have been named 2025 National Blue Ribbon Schools.

Members of the Kansas State Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Thursday, Sept. 25, to discuss the process of finding a new education commissioner.

WICHITA – Rachel Marlow, a music educator at Central Elementary, in Olathe Unified School District 233, was named the 2026 Kansas Teacher of the Year (KTOY) on Saturday, Sept. 20.
