The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) administers several award programs for districts to recognize outstanding students and teachers throughout the state.
All eligible students are encouraged to apply for the 2024 United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP).

Preparations are underway for the 40th annual Governor’s Scholars Award program, which will take place Sunday, May 7, in Topeka at Washburn University’s Petro Allied Health Center, Lee Arena.
The Presidential Scholars Program recognizes and honors high school seniors who have demonstrated high achievement academically or in the arts; some having to overcome special challenges or hurdles to do so.

Nominations are currently being accepted for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST).
The Kansas Horizon Award program offers Kansas school districts an excellent opportunity to honor exemplary first-year teachers.
