A new direction. A new date. A new event for district and building leadership teams.
Big changes are coming to KSDE’s Great ideas in Education Conference, and we think you’re going to like them.
KSDE has been promoting the importance of building coherence in Kansas’ school improvement efforts to effect meaningful change. That coherence must extend to the function and purpose of KSDE’s annual conference.
Beginning this year, the Great Ideas in Education Conference will take place in July to be a “back-to-school kickoff” opportunity for district and building leadership teams to convene and develop strategies for meeting district action plans. District teams will have the opportunity to engage with other like-districts to share best practices and strategies to help one another reach their goals.
This three-day event will provide everything districts need to accomplish their action plans and communicate these efforts districtwide.
- Cross-district collaboration.
- Large group and breakout sessions focused on the four fundamentals.
- Standards alignment
- Structured literacy
- Balanced assessment system
- High-quality instruction
- Access to dedicated supports and resources.
- Direct engagement with education leaders and content experts.
- Dedicated plan times for district teams.
Members of district and building leadership teams will attend breakout sessions most closely aligned to their job responsibilities, ensuring all areas are well represented in the development of the district’s action plan strategies. We call that building coherence.
Don’t miss this critical opportunity to kick off the new school year primed for success.
