Virtual support for transitioning for students with autism and complex learning needs
The Kansas Technical Assistance System Network (TASN) Autism and Tertiary Behavior Supports (ATBS) is offering a year-long, month-by-month approach to supporting transitioning for students with autism and complex learning needs.
All members of transition teams are encouraged to attend – elementary, middle, high school and postsecondary teachers, transition specialists and coordinators, administrators, parents, related service providers, and paraprofessional staff.
Kansas educators will work in transition teams to collaborate and demonstrate understanding and implementation of the components of high-quality transition programs and services that support postsecondary outcomes.
Topics of the virtual sessions include assessment, student-directed planning, family engagement, academic content, employment and career development, independent living and inclusion in the community.
Spots are available for the morning and afternoon sessions.
