By Jennifer Shaffer, KSDE information technology team
Members of the KSDE Information Technology (IT) team attended the Kansas PowerSchool Users Group (KSPSUG) Fall Mini Conference on Oct. 13, in Salina. Staff from more than 65 districts were registered to attend.
Throughout the day, accounts were created for more than 45 of those districts to obtain access to the Kansas Education Data System (KEDS) Data Validation Portal (DVP).
The Kansas Volunteer Commission and Mentor Kansas are collecting information on youth mentoring programs operated by school districts.
To support the Four Fundamentals of School Improvement, the Kansas State Department of Education is collecting data about the instructional materials used in Kansas schools. We believe every Kansas student deserves the opportunity to learn from high-quality, standards-aligned instructional materials and those materials play a foundational role in instructional improvement.
The Accessible Pathways Project aims to better understand and support multilingual learners (MLs) who are blind or have low vision (BLV) and those who are deaf or hard of hearing (DHH).
This project is a collaborative effort led by the Minnesota Department of Education and WIDA (housed in the Wisconsin Center for Education Research) that launched in 2025 with a grant through the U.S. Department of Education’s Competitive Grants for State Assessments competition. Kansas is a supporting state in this grant.
