Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ) support available this summer

Mark your calendars for two upcoming opportunities for Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ) professional learning and support.

On Friday, June 27, 9 -11 a.m., the Kansas State Department of Education’s early childhood team, the Kansas Parent Information Resource Center, and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment will host “Using Ages and Stages Screeners (ASQ) to Engage with Families and Support Child Development.”

This is a fast-paced training for people who have experience utilizing developmental screeners and want to learn more about using the screening information to impact child development. This will be open to early childhood providers in health, education, and other settings and will not be specific to the Kansas Kindergarten Readiness Snapshot. Register on the KSDE TASN website

In August, KSDE will host two different “Preparing for the Kindergarten Readiness Snapshot” sessions. This will be a quick overview of the action items schools can take to get ready for the start of the 2025-26 kindergarten year. Whether you are a seasoned ASQ user or new to the ASQ, join us for timely resources and action items. Click here to register for the session on Monday, Aug. 4, at 3:30 p.m., or click here to register for the session on Tuesday, Aug. 5, at 10 a.m.

Review the 2025-2026 Kindergarten Readiness Snapshot Fact Sheet (updated March 2025) for key dates, action items and resources to successfully prepare for the Kindergarten Readiness Snapshot. All schools must administer the ASQ to incoming kindergarten students by Sept. 22. All data (including paper screenings and pending Family Access screenings) must be entered into ASQ Online by Sept. 26.

Contact Amanda Petersen, Amanda.Petersen@ksde.gov, and Stacy Clarke, Stacy.Clarke@ksde.gov, with ASQ questions.
