The Kansas State Board of Education will hear a presentation on the progress of the literacy initiatives taking place in districts across the state during their monthly meeting, April 8-9, in Topeka.
First adjournment for the 2025 Kansas legislative session was Friday, March 28. Legislators are expected to reconvene on Thursday, April 10, for the veto session. The 90th day of the session will be Saturday, April 12. In the meantime, Gov. Laura Kelly has signed two education-related bills.
Three mathematics educators and three science educators have been named 2025 state finalists for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST).
