By a vote of 68 to 53, the Kansas House passed the state appropriations bill for fiscal years 2026 through 2028, on Thursday, Feb. 26.

As school districts and systems are using the school improvement model to increase student achievement, Kansas agriculture educators are recognizing how much of their instruction follows the model’s Four Fundamentals of structured literacy, standards alignment, balanced assessment and quality instruction.
During the week of Feb. 16, 11 bills that could impact Kanas schools were passed out at least one chamber, including House Sub for SB 244, which was vetoed by Gov. Laura Kelly. Both the House and Senate voted to override the veto.
