This year’s theme is “Food Questions and Myth Busting with Kansas Farmers and Ranchers.” Join the organizations powered by Kansas farmers and ranchers to explore your food questions, examine the latest food trends, and engage in science- and nutrition-based conversations that strengthen your confidence in the foods you choose for children. Topics will include: 

• Feb. 4: Seed Oils – This session from the Kansas Soybean Commission will provide an overview of seed oils, including their historical development and current scientific understanding. The webinar will also feature insights from a producer who specializes in growing seed crops, offering a practical perspective on the industry. 
• Feb. 11: Navigating Milk and Dairy Options – This session from Midwest Dairy takes a closer look at the wide range of dairy options available today - from whole to non-fat milk, conventional to organic, lactose-free, and more - and how these choices support both nutrition and sustainability goals. Participants will learn about the Smart Swaps initiative, designed to help schools adapt to changing school meal standards, with an emphasis on breakfast. The goal is simple: to maintain nutritious, great-tasting meals that are easy to prepare and still loved by students. 
• Feb. 18: Antibiotics and Hormones – In this session, presented by the Kansas Beef Council, a veterinarian and dietitian will provide evidence-based guidance on the use of antibiotics and hormones in beef production. Their expertise will help participants navigate common questions and make informed menu decisions, while also strengthening communication with staff and students. 
• Feb. 25: Pesticides – This session from Kansas Farm Bureau will address common questions about pesticide use in food production, including their purpose, regulatory oversight, and the scientific evidence behind current practices. Participants will gain a clearer understanding of food safety considerations and what the research shows about consuming products treated with pesticides.
